- 50 g PVA film (water-soluble)
- 60 g washing soda (sodium carbonate)
- 60 g baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
- 20 g citric acid
- 10 drops drops essential oils (lavender, lemon, eucalyptus—optional)
- Optional Alternative: For easy, pre-measured laundry doses, you can also use water-soluble PVA bags (commonly sold as fishing bait bags) to hold your DIY detergent mixture.
- 1 tsp sodium percarbonate (oxygen bleach for whitening) Optional
- 1 tsp sodium citrate (extra water softener) Optional
Mix the powders: Combine washing soda, baking soda, citric acid, and optional boosters in a bowl. Mix thoroughly.
Cut PVA sheets: Cut sheets to your desired size, approximately 3” × 3”.
Add powder to PVA: Place one PVA sheet flat. Sprinkle ~1–2 teaspoons of the powder mix evenly, leaving a small edge.
Fold and seal: Fold the PVA sheet over itself, covering the powder completely. Press the edges gently to seal.
Store: Keep sheets in an airtight container away from moisture. They will dissolve instantly in cold or hot water.
For a mess-free option, you can portion your detergent into water-soluble PVA bags to create pre-measured laundry pods. Always store in a dry container to prevent premature dissolving.
